Most people experience the problem of swollen cheeks that may lead to the lot of pain, discomfort, and embarrassment. The skin on the cheek may not tear but the skin tissues are affected and also the flow of blood reduces on that area which leads to swelling and discoloration of the skin. 1. Mustard oil:

2. Reduce salt intake:
Sometimes excess consumption of sodium leads to bloating and swelling. We need to reduce this culprit from our diet because it is highly toxic. Reduce the consumption of sodium rich food like processed foods and cheese.
3. Cucumber and lemon juice:
Take few slices of cucumber and dip them in lemon juice for few hours and then apply these slices on your face for at least 15-20 minutes. Raw potatoes have a cooling effect. All you need to do is cut the potato into slices and place it on one side of your face for at least 15-20 minutes. This will soothe the pain and act as a cold compress for your face.
Alternatively, you can boil the potatoes and mash them in a bowl. Wrap these mashed potatoes in a soft towel and place it on your cheeks. Those who are prone to swelling on face after seeing should splash cold water on the face when they get up in the morning.
A cold compress will speed up the healing process. For cold compress, you can use ice packs, a bag of frozen chickpeas or even cold water. Simply place the ice pack or towel on the affected area for few minutes. Keep repeating this for a couple of cycles. It will numb the pain and will give you immediate relief.
6. Hot compress:
Same as cold compress you can opt hot compress as well. It is more soothing and relieving for the skin. All you need to do is prepare a hot compress and press it gently on the swollen cheeks. You can make a coffee grounds facial mask for reducing the facial swelling. Mix two tablespoon of ground coffee, two teaspoons of cocoa powder, a tablespoon of honey and three tablespoons of plain yogurt or milk. Mix the four ingredients well and then apply on your face. Scrub it for 15-20 minutes and massage onto the face in a circular manner. Wash your face with cold water. If you don’t have cocoa powder ground coffee and honey are also enough. Don’t use this mask on a daily basis but you can use it once or twice a week.
8. Egg whites:
It is a great face mask for reducing redness and puffiness on the face but also good for the skin to reduce blackheads and pimples as it removes the excess oil from the skin. Wipe two egg whites in a bowl. Keep it aside for few hours. Apply the mixture on the face and leave it for 20 minutes. It gives a very soothing and smooth texture to face as eggs whites are rich in protein. Wash it off and apply a regular cleanser on your face. You will see the reduction of redness as well a glowing face free of rashes.
9. Green tea bags:
This is a perfect solution for all skin types. We all are aware of the goodness of green tea. It has got so many advantages and is good for not only the body but skin as well. We will use brewed tea bags. Dip a green tea bag in eight ounces of warm water for a couple of minutes. Then remove the tea bags and you can use this warm water as a hot compress for the face.
